Cody Inman
Cody Inman, an OKDHS worker with Director Lake’s office, has dedicated the past 8 years between the Governor’s office and DHS working to advocate for children and adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities.
Laurel Swanson
Laurel Swanson, has been a school counselor for the past 6 years and before that worked as a classroom teacher for 6 years. Since assuming the role of school counselor, she has made an immediate and lasting impact on her school, Sneed Elementary.
Lisa Smith
Lisa Smith is the former Executive Director of the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth (OCCY). She served as its Director for nine years and before that served OCCY as an oversight specialist and its Assistant Director. She has devoted her career to public service on behalf of disadvantaged children and youth. Before her tenure at OCCY, Ms. Smith worked as a child welfare worker and supervisor at OKDHS and a grants manager and internal monitor at the Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA).
Marci Brueggen
Marci has served children her whole life, first as a teacher and then as a principal. Upon retirement, she choose to continue serving children and their families as a full time volunteer for Smart Start Central Oklahoma.
Miki Farris
Miki Farris, co-founded Infant Crisis Services in 1984 in a basement classroom in a church in OKC and now serves as the Executive Director of Infant Crisis Services.
Ronda Peterson
Ronda Peterson is the adoptive parent of a special needs child from OKDHS. She undertook a personal advocacy battle with OKDHS to point out its unlawful actions under federal law. Ronda is an ordinary person who has engaged in an extraordinary advocacy effort to help thousands of disabled kids.
Sid Brown
Sid Brown has spent more than 40 years involved in children’s issues as a social worker, lawyer, tribal judge, judge for the Oklahoma County Juvenile Court System, Professor at ECU, OCCY Commissioner and probably has many other accolades. He has also been involved in writing legislation related to Title 10.
